Boston Common hires new top editor
Boston Common magazine has hired Janice O’Leary as its new editor-in-chief, the magazine’s parent company Niche Media said Tuesday.
O’Leary replaces Terri Stanley in the top post.
As editor-in-chief, O’Leary will oversee the editorial pages and manage the “magazine’s high-profile contributors and covers,” according to New York-based Niche Media.
O’Leary is also charged with generating content about Boston-based personalities, establishments and what the city has to offer in terms of fashion, beauty, interior design and real estate, among other topics.
O’Leary is currently teaching in Boston University’s publishing certificate program and will remain on the school’s staff while working with Boston Common.
Prior to joining Niche Media, she was associate editor at Body + Soul magazine. She was also a correspondent for the Boston Globe Magazine.
